During the tour, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly browsed through a booklet explaining the importance of the bridge and watched a documentary about its construction history, where it was built in 1890 on the Nile River in Imbaba. Its history coincides with that of the Eiffel Tower. Dr. Manal Awad provided an explanation about the transportation process from Damietta and rehabilitating the bridge to Damietta.
The Governor of Damietta stated that the cost of the development works reached approximately 65 million Egyptian pounds, which were funded by Misr Fertilizer Production Company "MOPCO,"  according to the protocol signed between the governorate and the company in July 2022. MOPCO is always keen on enhancing its leading role toward society, which is why it expressed its readiness to implement this plan to build a better community for the residents of Damietta and restore the historical, cultural, and archeological significance of this historical bridge.
